Callifornia's Highway 1
One of the country's great drives is California's Highway 1 between Los Angeles and San Francisco. With the Pacific on one side and dramatic cliffs and vistas on the other, this drive is nothing short of breathtaking. Bring a camera and try to resist stopping every other mile for still another great picture. In addition to the views, there's any number of sights from Hearst Castle to the Monterey Aquarium. There's plenty of great places to stay and delightful dining along the way, plenty of beaches, and more. Even if you've never been there before, you'll feel as if you have because you've seen this road in so many car commercials.
